Reproductive mental health focuses on the emotional well-being of individuals and families navigating experiences such as:
Fertility treatments and challenges
Pregnancy and pregnancy loss
Abortion and termination
Postpartum adjustment and parenting transitions
These moments can bring profound emotions, and specialized support helps you navigate them with resilience and care.
Hi, I’m Sandra Maurer, MA, LPCC, PMH-C (She/Her/Hers). I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Perinatal Mental Health provider, specializing in reproductive, perinatal and women’s mental health. I support individuals and families of all kinds—including LGBTQIA+ families, single parents, blended families, and more—through life’s significant transitions. Whether you’re navigating fertility treatments, pregnancy, postpartum challenges, early parenting, pregnancy loss, termination, or other women’s health concerns, I’m here to help.
My approach is warm, inclusive, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I use ACT, CBT, and Narrative Therapy, blending these evidence-based practices with mindfulness and movement-based strategies to support healing and growth. My goal is to create a safe and affirming space where you can explore your experiences and feel empowered to move forward.
As the Director for the Center for Perinatal & Reproductive Mental Health for Minnesota Mental Health Clinics, I created an intensive outpatient program specifically for pregnancy, postpartum, fertility treatments, loss and early parenting. I continue to provide professional consultation services and present at local and national conferences in the U.S.
As an expat living in the Netherlands, I understand how cultural transitions can add layers of complexity to parenting and mental health. I’m committed to providing inclusive care that honors the diversity of your family and your unique journey.
